Blueprint to Design Perfection
For the Chairs of the Century exhibition at The Garage in Rotterdam, we developed a catalogue and promotional materials that resemble a highly technical manual inspired by furniture assembly instructions. Moving beyond traditional photography, we used meticulous 3D renders and wireframes to present each chair, offering an almost instructional view of their design. This approach highlighted the chairs as flawless, functional objects, with the technical aesthetic and wireframe illustrations adding a detailed, structured feel akin to product specification guides.

The catalogue paid tribute to iconic chair designs by pairing technical renders with quotes and imagery of their creators. This approach bridged the gap between the human stories behind the chairs and the precise, functional nature of their designs. By focusing on the relationship between the designers' values and the technical mastery of their creations, we showcased not only the form and function of the chairs but also the philosophy and craftsmanship that brought them to life.
